Catherine O’Grady Powers

Catherine O’Grady Powers owns and manages one of Ireland’s largest estates. Catherine is the CEO of Glen Keen Estate Whiskey and Glen Keen Farm Ltd.

Catherine serves as a Director for the Mayo North East Partnership Company for rural development.

Before taking over the Glen Keen Estate, Catherine worked in Aviation, Public Relations and the Hospitality sectors. Catherine began her career as a member of Ryanair’s UK new market sales team and was privileged to apply her marketing and development skills to the Royal Brunei Airlines. With a passion for flight Catherine served as a technical writer/marketing executive for Flight Training International, USA. Public Relations Giant Porter Novelli recruited Catherine in their Washington D.C. headquarters where she further refined her skillsets.
Upon returning to Ireland Catherine continued to diversify her background to Tourism and Hospitality Management where she worked for a number of years and served as Chairperson of the Westport Tourism Organisation promoting the West as a quality visitor destination

Catherine has a deep interest in Asia where she has hosted numerous Government and Trade delegation visits from Asia to Ireland. Catherine is proud to wave the Irish flag in marketing Ireland throughout Asia and believes in the power and benefits of a shared global network.

With the majority of Catherine’s career spent in International communities she has developed a refined skill in cross cultural relations and understands the importance of building and maintaining cultural links.

Catherine is the National winner of the Women in business and agriculture awards 2020. She is passionate about Agriculture, Tourism, Travel, a keen aviation enthusiast and is a proud spokeswoman for rural country living.
